According to News.com.au, a 15 year-old boy from Spain has sued his mother for “mistreatment” after she confiscated his phone in an effort to make him study.
The report states that the mom took the phone from her son in February. Hilariously, the boy has sought a 9-month prison term for the offending parent and payment of his legal costs.
The case came before a judge in Almeria in Southern Spain this week. Local newspapers reported that the judge came down on the side of the mother (of course) stating that the defendant was “well within her rights” in taking the phone.
“She would not be a responsible mother if she allowed her son to be distracted by the mobile phone and fail to study,” said the judge according to Europa Media.
