A Rasmussen poll released on Thursday asked Democrat voters if they thought that Vice President Mike Pence was “qualified to be President: A shocking 40% said he was. This is a very rare event where Democrat voters feel that an opposition politician has what it takes to be President.
Many in the media are wondering if Pence could be looking at a 2024 run for the White House. His recent actions in South Korea and his Whistlestop tour of 10 Asian countries seems to be having voters of all types in thrall to his calm, professional manner.
Some media pundits are suggesting that along with Donald Trump’s hardline stance on immigration and Pence’s steady approach to foreign affairs, 2020 should be a fairly easy win.
As reported by the Daily Caller:
The Rasmussen poll also shows that 63 percent of likely U.S. voters believe Pence can handle being president, but 32 percent say otherwise.
The Rasmussen Reports poll of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted between April 17 to April 18, 2017. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence.
Pence made news earlier in the week when he cautioned North Korea, after the regime launched a failed nuclear missile test, not to test the resolve of the Trump administration.
