Taking part in a panel discussion on Monday, New York Times reporter Glenn Thrush mocked the notion that the Obama era was a “golden age” for journalists.
“I do want to give Trump credit on things,” Thrush (in photo) said in a quote that is liable to get him fired from the NYT if he isn’t careful.
“I think one of the things he’s doing better than Barack Obama are these press conferences, and his outreach to individual reporters, even for organizations like my own that he criticizes,” Thrush continued.
Thrush said that when Obama was President, he would have a note card of 6 or 7 pre-determined journalists to call on for pre-arranged questions.
President Trump’s press conferences, the reporter confessed, are “a lot more democratic than the way Obama conducted them.”
