Liberals have decried what they feel is intolerant Islamophobia in those Americans who support a temporary pause on immigration from Muslim countries.
Yet perhaps some of the Muslims currently blocked from coming to the United States would not share the same values when it comes to race and gender discrimination.
In a statement made Sunday (on Iran’s National Women’s and Mother’s Day), Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei described the dangers he sees in gender equality and allowing women outside the home.
The concept of elevating women outside of the household is part of a Zionist plot, the Iranian declared, aimed at eroding proper Islamic society.
Of course, Khamenei blamed American culture for the hideous world-wide trend of women walking around freely outdoors. “Western scholars and those who pursue issues like gender equality all regret their actions for the corruption they caused,” he said.
