The latest ‘must see’ movie is set to hit the big screen this weekend and the signs are encouraging that it may end Hollywood’s box office slump.
Wonder Woman has been 75 years in the making, and early reviews indicate it’s been worth the wait.
While early indications show the feature trailing some of the earlier male orientated superhero movies, such as Batman v Superman or Guardians of the Galaxy, the early numbers are impressive for a woman action hero movie.
Here’s how Entertainment Week described the weekend outlook:
A glass ceiling isn’t the only thing Wonder Woman is poised to break this weekend; the Warner Bros. blockbuster also has its sights set on shattering records for female-fronted superhero flicks as it eyes an opening that could topple $100 million.
Wonder Woman is being hailed as one of the best DC movies of all time, and that certainly can’t hurt its box office prospects.
It would be a positive sign for the movie industry and women actors in general if Wonder Woman can crack the $100 million ceiling on opening weekend.
