Last week, New York Times reporter, Nicholas Kristof urged employees of the IRS to leak President Donald Trump’s tax returns. He listed the mailing address of his newspaper at the end of the tweet, encouraging illegal activity from government employees. Although New York Times did not get what he asked for, MSNBC did get a leak of information on President Trump.
On Tuesday, Rachel Maddow released President Donald Trump’s 1040 2005 tax returns on the air. A copy of the returns can be seen here. All that was recovered fro these two pages of tax returns was that President Trump paid $38 million in taxes out of his $150 million in income. The White House scooped the report by releasing these numbers before the broadcast, and slamming MSNBC in the process.
From Gateway Pundit:
“You know you are desperate for rating when you are willing to violate the law to push a story about two pages of tax returns from over a decade ago,” the statement read. “Despite this substantial income figure and tax paid, it is totally illegal to steal and publish tax returns. The dishonest media can continue to make this part of their agenda, while the President will focus on his, which includes tax reform that will benefit all Americans.”
