Academy award winner, Helen Hunt has said something that some are rejoicing over, some are angry at and most are just plain confused about. She remarked that while shooting her latest role, she realized that there were between 60-80% black workers on set. “This is what it’s supposed to be like” she said.
As to why she thinks that 60-80% of people employed in any one place should be black when black people are a minority in the US has left many confused. Does she think that there should be less white people in the workforce? Does she think that in the movie business that this should be the golden ratio?
As reported in the Daily Caller:
Academy Award-winning actress Helen Hunt, 53, used her spot on Wednesday’s episode of “The View” to talk about how “woke” she became by working on “Shots Fired,” a show about the Black Lives Matter movement.
“Being a white woman in America, I am finding is this process of waking up,” Hunt said.
She remarked on how one day she noticed the show had 60-80 percent black crew members, leading her to say, “Oh, this is how it’s supposed to be. It’s supposed to be like this.”
Hunt expressed regret at perhaps not being “woke” enough in the past.
