Debbie Wasserman Schultz made a huge break with protocol the other day during a police budget hearing, where she took time during the session to threaten the Chief to give her back some property that was seized during an investigation.
A computer, that the police found hidden in a crevice, is being looked at for prosecution of Imran Awan. Shultz says that the police have no right to keep the computer and that she wants it back. She warned that there would be “consequences”.
Her inappropriate outburst has left many people wondering what is actually on the laptop, why she is trying so hard to get it back, and if she could be trying to cover up her own crimes?
As reported in the Daily Caller:
“My understanding is the the Capitol Police is not able to confiscate Members’ equipment when the Member is not under investigation,” Wasserman Schultz said in the annual police budget hearing of the House Committee On Appropriations’ Legislative Branch Subcommittee.
“We can’t return the equipment,” Police Chief Matthew R. Verderosa told the Florida Democrat.
“I think you’re violating the rules when you conduct your business that way and you should expect that there will be consequences,” Wasserman Schultz said.
