Reporters have used all kinds of tactics to make Sean Spicer, President Trump’s press secretary, look bad in question-and-answer sessions. Loaded questions, sneering facial expressions and constant interruptions are popular gambits.
But when April Ryan of American Urban Radio started shaking her head sadly at a press conference this afternoon, Spicer had had enough.
“Stop shaking your head,” Spicer told her.
When the left-leaning journalist continued by pressing the secretary for details about Russia and national security, the secretary replied, “No, we don’t have (Russia to deal with). You have Russia,” referring to the media’s obsession with Vladimir Putin. “If the President orders Russian salad dressing, you make a connection.”
Watch the clip before for the entire exchange, including Spicer’s terse “At some point, report the facts” aimed at Ryan.
