During a Senate testimony hearing on Wednesday, the head of the Border patrol Union stated that the rape of a 14 year-old girl by 2 newly arrived immigrants (at least one is an illegal migrant, the other is a minor, so immigration status is not being discussed), was avoidable and that “Had we had done our job that 14-year old girl wouldn’t have been raped. Period. That’s all there is to it,”
National Border Patrol Council president, Brandon Judd, said in his testimony that under the Obama administration, the standard procedure for dealing with illegal entry has been “catch and release” which has led to these types of crime occurring more frequently.
As reported in the Daily Caller:
“Had we had done our job that 14-year old girl wouldn’t have been raped. Period. That’s all there is to it,” National Border Patrol Council president Brandon Judd said before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
Judd, who is currently a Border Patrol agent, added that had the agency kept Sanchez-Milian in custody “that rape wouldn’t have happened.” Under the Obama administration the standard operating practice for the Border Patrol was to “catch and release” illegal immigrants they caught.
He went further and added: “We failed the citizens of this great nation by not securing the border.”
