The French President, François Hollande, was giving a speech during the opening of the Paris-Bordeaux high speed line in Villognon. His speech was interrupted by the sounds of shots fired somewhere in the crowd. His term for presidency is set to be over in May. He paused to briefly look in the direction of the discharged weapon and then bravely continued to give the rest of his speech. Two people were injured, but the gun fired was actually an accident on the part of a local security guard for the media, who accidentally fired his weapon after leaving the safety off.
