Never in American history have its citizens had the insight into the thoughts of their President as we do with Donald Trump.
For better or worse, we know what Trump is thinking, and we hear directly from him, usually several times a day.
At times his tweets have overrun the efforts of his spokesmen to report on the administration’s policies. It’s not that they are wrong, it’s just that with Trump things move fast.
As a very active President with lots of things happening, it is not possible for my surrogates to stand at podium with perfect accuracy!….

Trump has suggested that might just cancel all press briefings and just use Twitter to communicate directly with the American people.
As the Independent put it, “this may, in fact, be the most transparent White House ever – and the most transparent President.”
The press, of course, does not like the prospect of a President who can talk directly to the public. It cuts them out of the loop and lets people make their own decisions.
