The President has called on American voters to push their congressmen to repeal Obamacare and replace it with a new health care system.
In a speech at a Wisconsin factory, he told the audience, “We’re also working with Congress on tax reform and simplification, and we’re on time if we get that health-care approval, so press every one of your congressmen, press everybody, because we want to get that approval.”
Trump’s administration has expressed hopes to reform healthcare before moving on other areas like tax reform. “On healthcare, we have to get the healthcare taken care of,” he said, “And as soon as health care [is taken care of], we’re going to march very quickly, you’re gonna watch. We’re gonna surprise you.”
As reported in the Daily Caller:
GOP lawmakers in the House have had trouble coming to a consensus on a deal — with conservative members of the House Freedom Caucus pressing for the removal of a number of Obamacare regulations they feel are keeping premiums high.
Moderates have expressed concerns over abolishing certain ACA provisions, which has proved to be problematic in Republicans trying to make good on their campaign promise.
Trump said that once healthcare is reformed, he will be able to move on to other key matters.
