When Tom Ford made headlines before the inauguration, it was because he came out to the public and said he refused to dress Melania Trump, saying that he didn’t believe in their politics. Well, the President got his revenge this month when he removed all Tom Ford products from being sold in any Trump casinos.
“Whoever is the president, or the first lady, should be wearing clothes at a price point that are accessible to most Americans, and wearing clothes made in America,” Tom Ford said at the time. “My clothes are made in Italy, they’re very, very expensive. I don’t think most women or men in our country can relate to that, and I think the first lady or the president should represent all people.”
Of course, he was just trying to get attention. The president already debunked the claim that he would ever ask Tom Ford to dress Melania. The couple isn’t a fan of Ford’s designs.
Wynn Las Vegas later confirmed Trump’s claim to the Daily Mail in a statement, saying: “Wynn Las Vegas confirms it removed the Tom Ford line of cosmetics and sunglasses from the resort this past weekend.” The resort does not have a Tom Ford store and does not sell the designer’s clothing.
Many readers defended Melania Trump, saying they were looking forward to having her in the White House.
“Melania is beautiful, classy and elegant. What a lovely First Lady she will make. I can’t wait!” one Daily Mail reader commented.
“Wow! Compare the First Lady to the incoming First Lady and well……there really is a dazzling difference. Melania is simply stunning!” another added.
