In the LGBTQ era, all kinds of unconventional singles and couples (such as in photo below) are accepted at school proms. But due to the paranoid police state of one southern municipality, apparently grandparents are no longer welcome at school functions everywhere.
Daily Mail is reporting that an Alabama teenager was banned by his high school for asking his grandmother to senior prom. Bryce Maine of Eufaula High School recently learned that his grandma had never been to a prom, and asked her to the dance as a “sweet gesture” complete with a painted invitation.
HS principal Steve Hawkins defended the decision to ban the Maine family from the prom by citing a rule preventing students from bringing older dates, since those over 21 may attempt to sneak alcohol in.
Absurdly, Hawkins continued “The safety of our students has to be first priority,” while speaking of the little old woman.
