Starbucks is fast gaining a reputation as being not only a bigoted company, but also employing bigoted staff. When Kayla tried to order a coffee whilst wearing a Trump T-shirt, the cashier laughed in her face. And instead of writing “Kayla” on the cup, “Build a Wall” was written. What has created the environment for this bullying of people with different views in the Starbucks corporation?
The upper management is not much better. During an AGM, investors were told that if they did not support Gay Marriage, then Starbucks “does not want your money.” Many of the people the CEO was talking to had probably invested long before Gay Marriage became legal in many places. By what right does a company demand that investors only invest if they support something that at the time was illegal?
As customers, we have a choice to make about where we buy products, think about that next time you want a coffee.
As reported in Young Cons:
Kayla Hart went to her local Starbucks in Dilworth, NC wearing a t-shirt in support of President Donald Trump and was bullied by her barista, she claims.
Hart says when she walked into the coffee shop the cashier laughed in her face.
Instead of getting her name on her cup as is the custom at the widely popular chain, she got a political message instead. In place of her name her cup label read ‘BUILD A WALL’ on her venti green iced tea.
