An attempt by the makers of Skittles to celebrate LGBTQ Pride Month has suffered from brutal, hate-filled backlash from various left-wing activists on social media and in mainstream news.
The candy manufacturer removed its trademark rainbow colors from the product as a tribute to Pride Month.
A statement read, “During Pride, only 1 rainbow matters. So we’ve given up ours to show support.” With each bag of plain-white candy sold, Skittles made a donation to an LGBTQ charity.
But liberals in the press pounced, with Time magazine and Jezebel claiming that the white candies stood for white supremacy.
