A 16 year-old girl was charged with first-degree murder, and accused of stabbing an Uber ride-sharing driver to death in suburban Chicago on Wednesday.
Eliza Wasni allegedly stole a knife and a machete from Walmart, then ordered a ride from Uber and within minutes, started attacking her driver.
Grant Nelson, the victim, managed to stop and run into a condominium building lobby, where he later died from the stab wounds.
Wasni appears to have driven off in the car, striking a median and then running away. She was apprehended moments later.
Officers found the driver, 34, with multiple stab wounds.
Nelson had been braking to drop off the girl when the attack occurred, police said.
