Democratic heads are spinning all over the nation regarding the alleged connections between Attorney General Jeff sessions and Russia. These manufactured allegations not only make Democrats look silly, but they’re not based in reality. Senator Ted Cruz weighs in on the situation by saying that these meetings between Sessions and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, the Russian Ambassador to the United States, are a part of his job. As a senator himself, Cruz has met with six ambassadors in the past five months and that it is in bad form for a Senator to turn down a request for a meeting from an ambassador.
From Washington Examiner:
The meetings with Russian ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak were a “nothing burger,” Cruz said on MSNBC. “He was simply doing his job,” said Cruz, who added that the political dustup is “nothing but political theater.” “If the Russian ambassador had called and asked for a meeting, I imagine I’d [have] taken the meeting,” he said, adding he’s met with “six ambassadors in the last five months.”
