Recently, word got out that someone was shopping around for high bids on a sex tape starring “O.C” star Mischa Barton. She immediately took legal action.
According to Mischa, it was filmed without her knowledge. She only found out about its existence after someone approached her on the street.
TMZ obtained exclusive clips of an interview Barton did with Dr. Phil. She opened up to the talk show host about the sex tape scandal, telling him she’s been suffering from emotion abuse since she found out about it.
The reality TV show star told Dr. Phil that she really didn’t believe it when she first found it. Mischa Barton said she simply could not believe that someone she loved could do something like that:
“I didn’t believe it was possible, and later I learned that it was entirely possible.”
The “O.C.” star referred to the situation as “emotional blackmail.”
“It was one of those things where I need to distance myself from all of these people immediately, because there’s not much you can do — it’s really out of your hands, and it was a crime. It is a serious crime to tape people without their knowledge like that,” she said.
“I just removed myself from it as quickly as I could and then it just continued to be complete emotional abuse after that, for like the last several, several months,” Barton added.
Jon Zacharias was identified as the man in the tape, according to court documents filed by Barton and her attorney earlier this month. The documents, reported by the Daily Mail, showed that Barton issued a restraining order against him and another man named Adam Shaw who the actress also dated at one time.
The court documents were meant to prevent both men from attempting to sell or distribute the tape, which is reportedly being shopped around for up to $500,000.
