Despite the constant CNN coverage of the Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy theory, CNN commentator Van Jones has admitted that the story is a “nothing burger.”
Seemingly unaware that he was being recorded, Jones was filmed in an undercover video saying that, “The Russia thing is just a big nothing burger. There’s nothing there you can do.”
The video is the second one about CNN released by Project Veritas this week. CNN supervising producer John Bonifield was also filmed by an undercover journalist, admitting that the entire Russia story is being used to boost the networks ratings. He says that thought the Russia could be “bull**t,” and that there is no proof to support the story.
The Daily Caller reports:
The comments caught on tape aren’t terribly inconsistent with what Jones has said in the past. While Jones has criticized Trump’s lukewarm responses to Russian election interference, he has also gone after the Democrats for using Russia as an excuse for their 2016 failure.
“Let’s be honest,” Jones said of the Clinton campaign earlier this June. “They took a billion dollars, a billion dollars, a billion dollars, and set it on fire, and called it a campaign!”
CNN responded to the first video in support of Bonifield, stating that “CNN stands by our medical producer John Bonifield. Diversity of personal opinion is what makes CNN strong, we welcome it and embrace it.” Will they continue to stand by Van Jones, too?
