Sean Spicer is changing his job in the White House. He’s been the White House Press Secretary since President Trump took over the Oval Office. Spicer’s new position will be similar to a deputy chief of staff. In his new role, he’ll be overseeing the entire communications department for the Trump Administration.
That means that Spicer won’t be handling the day-to-day duties behind the podium in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room in the White House.
Spicer’s daily briefings have become ‘must-see TV’ and fodder for SNL skits.
Spicer will be managing both the communications department and the White House Press Office. This is a big change from the traditional division of duties in previous White House administrations.
The change is thought to be part of the President’s interest in finding new ways to coordinate the messaging from the White House that not only takes advantage of all forms of media, but also keeps up with the fast pace of modern communications.
We’re not sure when Spicer’s transfer will take place, but we wish him luck in his new position.
It will be very interesting to see what effect this might have on Saturday Night Live ratings.
US Herald reports:
What on Earth will Melissa McCarthy do?
What will happen to Saturday Night Live’s ratings?
The consternation at NBC can almost be felt as the White House announced that Press Secretary Sean Spicer is getting a promotion.
The embattled Spicer, who is the frequent target of McCarthy’s over-the-top impersonation on “SNL,” will oversee the entire communications department for the Trump administration.
