Saudi Arabia held the first Qassim Girls Council Meeting on Saturday, but they forgot to put any females on the council. Pictures released after the meeting show that there are 13 men on stage and not one female.
Prince Faisal bin Mishal bin Saud led the conference as the governor of the al-Qassim province, and was noted saying that he was proud of the girl’s conference and that it is the first of its kind in the kingdom. This council is chaired by his wife, Princess Abir bint Salman, who was not onstage, due to the rigorous gender segregation enforced by the Saudi Arabian government. This government might be moving towards loosening some of its restricting policies on women as soon as 2030.
