Many staunch conservatives and Evangelicals have been slow to get on the Trump Train. But radio host Rush Limbaugh, old golfing buddy of The Donald’s, has been one of the President’s biggest allies.
On Thursday, Rush gave what might be his fiercest defense of Trump yet, stating that the Judicial branch of government is engaged in a “silent coup” to eliminate all executive power during the Republican’s 4 or 8 years in office.
The controversy hinges on a key strategy utilized by liberal Federal judges in Washington, and more recently Hawaii who have successfully put up roadblocks to Trump’s executive order to pause immigration from certain Islamic countries.
Judges have used Trump’s campaign rhetoric to “read into” the otherwise benignly-worded executive order, which Limbaugh sees as a violation of Constitutional law.
“The profound, devastating possibilities that result from this (courtroom bias),” Rush argued over the radio on Thursday, could spill over into all foreign relations and domestic policy.
