Constitutionalist and former Republican representative Ron Paul strongly criticized President Trump’s decision to strike a Syrian airfield during an interview on Russia Today.
Speaking this afternoon, the former Texas lawmaker said he does not believe the evidence at hand is enough to say for sure that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was responsible for the sarin gas attack that killed women and children earlier this week.
“They needed a so-called excuse,” began Paul, comparing the Syrian conflict to President George W. Bush’s being pressured to go to war. “They wanted to go to Iraq so they concocted stories, and all kinds of things. I don’t know why they couldn’t wait and take a look at (the evidence of Assad’s war crimes).”
