Justine Damond was shot and killed by police responding to a 911 call that she had placed. Damond had called police to report a strange noise she heard. Not long after police arrived, Damond was laying dead in the street.
The mayor of Minneapolis was holding a press conference to talk about the incident, when things got out of hand.
‘We do not want you as our mayor!’ a protester yelled at Mayor Betsy Hodges.
The mayor was announcing the resignation of Police Chief Janeé Harteau following the police-involved shooting death of Justine Damond.
‘You have been ineffective as a leader and we want you to take your staff with you because they have terrorized us enough,’ the man yelled as protesters in the room called for ‘Justice for Justine’.
‘I have heard you, and I have listened…,’ Mayor Hodges tried to calm the crowd.
She was interrupted by a man who yelled: ‘You have failed us since you’ve been in office. Stop killing us!’
Young Conservatives reports:
Protesters stormed the Mayor Betsy Hodges’ press conference Saturday night.
They were there to protest the shooting of Justine Damaond who was unarmed and shot in her pajamas by an officer shooting across his partner out his driver’s side window at her.
The case has sparked hundreds to march on Thursday.
And now more protests interrupted the planned press conference.
