As the world recovers from the shock of the Manchester bombing that left 22 dead, the European Union has reacted in a way that should by this stage surprise no one. To deal with terrorists on our streets trying to kill us, they have proposed laws that would make Facebook and other Social Media sites report language that they might find offensive.
Do they mean ISIS calling for the deaths of “Infidels”? No. They mean people who might respond negatively to Islamic terrorism by saying something bad about Islam.
Clearly, they don’t think this will make us any safer, but that was never the goal. The goal was always to make the population accept exactly what is happening to them without complaining, by making us too afraid to discuss “the enemy”. Now perhaps we know the real enemy is.
