President Donald Trump experienced another boost in popularity over the weekend, with a Rasmussen poll placing his approval rating at 50%, with an even +/- for the first time in several weeks.
In contrast, Barack Obama sat at 55% approval and 45% disapproval after the same period of time to begin his first term. Considering the all-out onslaught of criticism from big-money media and un-elected Washington power brokers, The Donald is doing extremely well to be only 5 points behind.
CNN has published what looks like a “debunking” of the Rasmussen poll. The authors do admit to Rasmussen having nailed the 2016 Presidential Election more than almost any other polling firm.
However, the rising Trump tide is not just found in a single poll. Gallup, Pew, Reuters and others have shown gains in the President’s approval rating over the past week. As a result, Trump’s approval rating has been covered less and less by the mainstream media in that span.
