Juan Carlos Galan Luperon, a US citizen, was caught at JFK with 10 pounds of cocaine in his pants, strapped to his legs. The cocaine was worth $164,000.
Luperon caught the police’s attention when they noticed he looked nervous… and was bulging out of his pants. Agents said the man’s pants “appeared to be rather snug.” When agents took him to a private screening room, they immediately found the cocaine. It was strapped to his legs in a way that almost looked like leg casts, reports the Daily Mail.
Luperon was coming from the Dominican Republic on his way home to New York, according to NBC.
Airport officials tested the powder in the bags and found it was in fact cocaine, and 10 pounds of it.
The man faces federal narcotics smuggling charges and will be prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s office in the Eastern District Court of New York.
