Timothy Piazza had hoped to be accepted into the Penn State Beta Theta Pi fraternity back in February. Now, he is dead.
The night of binge drinking at the fraternity turned deadly when Piazza was found dead the following morning.
Piazza’s parents have made it their mission to change the culture of the fraternity to make sure that no other young men suffer the same fate as their son.
It was horrific. This — this wasn’t boys being boys. This was men who intended to force feed lethal amounts of alcohol into other young men. And what happened throughout the night was just careless disregard for human life. They basically treated our son as roadkill and a rag doll.

The Washington Post reported that the family had established the Timothy J. Piazza Memorial Foundation to raise money for various purposes.
According to the report of the grand jury:
The Penn State Greek community nurtured an environment so permissive of excessive drinking and hazing that it emboldened its members to repeatedly act with reckless disregard to human life.
As a result, eight fraternity members have been charged with involuntary manslaughter and are awaiting trial.
