Nearly a month has gone by since 15-year-old Elizabeth Thomas and her teacher, 50-year-old Tad Cummins, went missing. With the police trying to collect as much evidence as they can to find the missing girl, the parents have gotten some unexpected news.
With students, friends, and co-workers being interviewed, new evidence comes to light about how exactly the teacher was able to groom the 15-year-old and kidnap her. Several friends had told the parents and police that Elizabeth told them she was scared of Cummins, and that he stalked her. She didn’t know what to do.
Other classmates told the police that the teacher had set up a special seat for her, right next to him. He would continually touch her legs or shoulders while in class.
“Cummins preyed upon the child for months on end, nudging and molding her until her will to resist was conflicted and ultimately broken,” the filed petition stated, AL.com reported.

“She is for all purposes a victim of a masterfully manipulating predator,” it added.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation concluded that the last confirmed sighting of the two was on a surveillance camera at an Oklahoma City Wal-Mart on March 15, two days after they went missing. The footage was found two weeks after her disappearance.
Elizabeth was homeschooled up until this academic year, when she started at Culleoka Unit School. Cummins had worked at the school since 2011, but was officially fired after the two had been reported to be kissing on campus, according to The Tennessean.
The missing girl is described as 5-feet 5-inches tall and weighing 120 pounds with blonde hair and hazel eyes. Authorities describe Cummins as a 6-foot tall male weighing 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
