President Trump drew both praise and criticism for describing some of President Assad‘s chemical weapons attack victims “beautiful babies” in describing his rationale for the punishing missile strike on a Syrian airbase.
But that wasn’t the only “beautiful” uttered on the air Thursday night.
Brian Williams is getting fried, baked, and roasted on Twitter after making what most consider to be an insensitive and even repulsive remark to describe the strike in Syria.
“We see these beautiful pictures at night, from the decks of these two US Navy vessels,” Williams clumsily began. “I am tempted to quote the great Leonard Cohen, ‘I am guided by the beauty of our weapons.”
Response on Twitter from all sides of the political spectrum has ranged from condemning to hilarious. A writer called Williams “morally obtuse,” while another wrote, “Brian…must love the smell of napalm in the morning.”
