Former President Barack Obama claimed “political courage,” when he failed to carry through with his “red line,” in Syria.
As it turned out, Obama’s “red line” turned out to mean nothing as Syrian President Bashar al-Assad called Obama’s bluff and continued to use chemicals against his own people.
Ironically, the weak-kneed former President said those words before receiving the John F. Kennedy Profiles in Courage Award.
I actually think that the issue that required the most political courage was the decision not to bomb Syria after the chemical weapons use had been publicized, and rather to negotiate them removing chemical weapons from Syria.

However, others have a different take on Obama’s act of “courage.”
What President Obama calls ‘political courage’ – most everyone else calls weakness and poor judgement. https://t.co/9frKHU5ZrW

Newsmax reported the sharp contrast between Obama and President Trump. After Trump order attacks against Syria this April he said, “When you kill innocent children, innocent babies with a chemical gas that was so lethal — that crossed many, many lines beyond the ‘red line.”
