Introduced by liberal New York politician Assemblyman David I. Weprin, a new bill is lodging an attack in free speech in an effort to secure a ‘right to be forgotten.’ This requires people to remove inaccurate, irrelevant, inadequate and excessive statements about others. This blanket statement allows a lot of things to slip through the cracks and would make people much more liable to be sued.
In addition to that, removing news stories is literally changing history after the fact. People who fail to comply with this law would be charged with $250 a day and attorney fees. This also makes search engines liable for not removing these statements. Big brother is really overstepping its bounds.
From Young Conservatives:
In liberal land, the government is the answer to everything. People are too dumb to figure things out on their own so the government needs to run the show and protect them from themselves. The latest example comes from New York state.
Check out what some lawmakers are trying to do… Can you say big brother? How is this not bigger news? You have to imagine this won’t pass even in the liberal wasteland of New York. However, it shows you what rules liberals would put in place if they could wave a magic wand and have their way. Scary stuff.
