Democrats in Illinois are proposing a new “privilege” tax that would seize up to 20% of profits made by citizens working as financial consultants.
Disgustingly, the bill passed the IL state Senate in a 32-24 vote on Tuesday afternoon.
Backers are also hoping to get it through the Illinois House of Representatives before the legislative session ends on May 31.
Liberals are trying to pass similar bills in other states, to keep offices from simply moving to avoid the tax.
However, critics are pointing out that anywhere in the world a laptop can be turned on and a phone call can be made is a welcome spot for a finance office.
The Wall Street Journal calls the bill part of a “quest to punish the productive areas of the economy.”
