Justine Damond called 911 to report a suspicious noise she heard, but things only got worse when cops arrived.
Police Officer Mohamed Noor was sitting in the passenger seat of the squad car when Justine Damond approached. Damond was talking to Noor’s partner, who was sitting in the driver seat, when Noor took his weapon, reached across in front of his partner, and shot Damond point blank.
Justine Damond was dead at the scene.
Early reports indicated that Noor was ‘spooked‘ by the unarmed white woman in her pajamas.
You’d think that he would have been better trained. After all, Noor had been on the job for over 2 years.
According to reports, the killer cop graduated from the city’s accelerated police cadet program.
Noor graduated in 2015 after completing the seven month training program. He attended a quicker, nontraditional route to policing aimed at helping those who already have a college degree enter law enforcement.
That may suggest that Noor never received enough of the proper training. It may have been a combination of his lack of training and unsuitability for the job that contributed to Damond’s death.
Note: All the facts are not in, and we really don’t know exactly what happened and why.
