Brandon is a mother of two and works as an ICU staff nurse at Dominican Hospital, according to information on her Facebook page.
In a statement, Dominican Hospital said it was aware of the allegations and had taken the appropriate steps. Kohut’s profile has been recently removed from the Sutter Maternity and Surgery Center website.
Police have not yet disclosed whether the alleged abuse took place in the hospital, but Watsonville, California police said that the charges relate to actions both within their jurisdiction and beyond state lines, ABC7 reported.
State records show that Kohut was licensed as a surgeon in California in 1998, and the ABC affiliate reported that he had recently accepted a job in Arkansas and was in the process of moving.
Kohut was previously sanctioned by California’s state medical board for allegedly watching porn at work and performing surgery on the wrong side of someone’s head, according to state records reviewed by DailyMail.com.
The 2006 sanction alleged that Kohut ‘viewed adult pornographic web sites and downloaded pornography during work hours on UMC computers during the the period of 2002 through Feb. 2003,’ while working at University Medical Center.
The complaint further alleged that in May of 2002, Kohut attempted to surgically remove an aneurysm from the right side of a 36-year-old male patient, ‘when the x-rays clearly showed that the aneurysm was located on the left side of the patient’s head.’
Bail has not yet been set for Kohut in the child molestation charges. Brandon is being held on $1.5million bail.
A third person has been arrested in the case but has not yet been named, police said.
