Sounding like a liberal version of Pat Robertson on the 700 Club, Nancy Pelosi told the media today that President Trump‘s decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement is a “dishonor to God.”
“We have a moral responsibility. We must leave future generations with a healthy, sustainable planet,” she began, which sounded close enough to ordinary liberal patter about climate change.
But then the House Minority Leader went off the rails – and into some sort of weird religious rapture.
“Faith leaders, starting with the Holiness Pope Francis, to the evangelical community, have urged us to be responsible stewards of the beauty of God’s creation,” she said.
Democrats in Congress have contributed to the culture-wide mockery of those who claim God is waiting to punish us because of what their political opponents do. But Pelosi apparently did not catch the irony, and plunged further into the Apocalypse.
“The Bible tells us to minister to the needs of God’s creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.”
