A report by the Swedish government has found that the Muslim brotherhood is creating a ‘parallel society’ in the country. Sweden’s Civil Contingencies Agency claims that the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated Swedish organizations and political parties, as well as growing their numbers by immigration into the country. The report states that they have gained influence in order to threaten Swedish values install a parallel Muslim society.
The primary author of the report, Magnus Norell, stated that the Muslim Brotherhood has been active in Sweden since the 1970s, enabled by the political elite’s values and rules on how to deal with minorities.
According to the Daily Caller, the report has proven controversial:
The report is the first of its kind and it sparked a large debate among theologists over its validity. Muslim organizations mentioned in the report also denounced it as false.
“There are a bunch of things [in the report] that lack any kind of source,” Frédéric Brusi, a religious history professor at Stockholm University, told public radio station SR. “It’s a huge mess of mix-ups between facts and opinion.”
The report writers insist that their claims are backed by research and proven evidence. Over the last several years, Sweden has seen high levels in immigration. Multiple incidences of violence have demonstrated the divisions in the country.
