On Thursday’s edition of Hardball, MSNBC host Chris Matthews admitted that the Democrats’ Russia-collusion case against President Trump is growing weaker, and may have been blown apart by James Comey’s testimony.
Comey told Congress that Michael Flynn was not central to the Russia investigation, Matthews argued, so Trump’s endorsement of Flynn as a “good guy” who should be let go was not an attempt to cover up any ties to Russia.
Furthermore, Comey has now testified under oath that the President encouraged the FBI to go after any “satellites” who may have dealt underhandedly with Russia or other countries on their own.
“(Today’s testimony) kills the idea that Flynn might have been in a position to testify against Trump. And if that’s not the case, where’s the there-there?” Matthews asked a stunned liberal panel.
Expect Matthews to be taking plenty of heat over the weekend. View the clip below.
