President Trump’s approval rating took a turn for the better in a very important poll result released this morning. Or rather, it was considered an important poll until the results came in.
The President’s approval rating has ticked up to 43% in a CBS poll, after a week that saw Trump get tough on Russia, win an important Supreme Court battle, impress the President of China at a Trump-owned resort and demonstrate swift-yet-restrained command in military operations.
But of course, the media is focusing on a Gallup poll that shows Trump still at 40%. That is actually a decent number for the POTUS in the Gallup poll, which has often looked inflated to show a negative result.
Only 49% of those surveyed by the liberal-leaning CBS pollster expressed disapproval. Trump’s mark of -6 points is only half the negative margin from the previous version of the same poll taken a few weeks ago.
