GOP congressional candidate Greg Gianforte was accused of ‘body-slamming’ a liberal reporter for The Guardian the day before the election.
Today, voters in Montana told the press just exactly what they think of reporters who push the bounds of common courtesy and respect.
The New York Times is projecting that Greg Gianforte will defeat Democrat Rob Quist by 8 points.
Earlier polls had suggested a tight race, but Gianforte actually appeared to finish stronger as a result of his widely publicized run-in with the reporter.
Clearly, the voters in Montana believe that ‘body-slamming’ a reporter is deserving of their support.
The local sheriff charged Gianforte with a misdemeanor assault charge. The reporter, Ben Jacobs has made the most of his run in with appearances on Good Morning American and other shows.
