A clever setup by CNN to push an anti-Trump narrative went off the rails today when a survivor of a 2013 Syrian chemical attack didn’t follow the script.
CNN anchor and pundit Brooke Baldwin had previously interviewed the survivor, Kassem Eid, 3 days ago. On that day, he spoke of the attacks on innocents in his country from a humanitarian perspective.
In the aftermath of last night’s airstrike, Baldwin brought Eid back for a return interview, introduced as a criticism of President Trump for his refugee policy. To set up the attack, Hillary Clinton was shown saying “We cannot speak of protecting (Syrian) babies and in the next breath, close America’s doors to them.”
But Eid shocked her with his response, going on a pro-America, pro-Trump rant that caused the liberal host to end the segment as quickly as she could.
