Remember all those individuals who wanted to head to Canada seeking asylum when Donald Trump won? Well, they came in record numbers, managed to overload the system and are now stuck in limbo. The asylum seekers are currently not allowed to secure a job or earn any money.
That’ll teach them!
Their system was already struggling to process the applications, even before the 3,500 asylum seekers began heading to Canada earlier this year.
Canada just doesn’t have enough manpower to screen the claimants or attend the hearings. They currently have a backlog of approximately 39,000 claims – it will take a long time for Canada to process them all. And it might be a long time before any of them can get a job.
Better luck next time!
Allen B. West reports:
When Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election, tons of folks decided to pack up and head for Canada, seeking asylum for what they perceived was the coming apocalypse.
Well, it seems so many folks headed north, they overloaded Canada’s migration system, leaving them stuck in legal limbo.
