Andrew King, a man who showed images of swastikas spray-painted all over his home, was discovered by the Schenectady Police to have faked this hate crime on his property. In addition to that, there is some new evidence that shows that he may not even be Jewish.
Schenectady Police are accusing him of falsely reporting the incident and determined that King himself spray painted the graffiti on his own home. King was interviewed on their air at ABC news in February wearing a yarmulke, proudly expressing his deep Jewish faith as well as discussing how he was a victim of an attack. In an odd twist, King is now also claiming that he got two black eyes from police officers who arrested him on charges of harassing a county employee.
From News10 ABC:
NEWS10 ABC Anya Tucker wanted to get some perspective from prominent Jewish leaders in the Capital Region. Those who know King told me a crazy story that the devout Andrew King is not even Jewish. They say he tried to convert several times but was turned down by at least two congregations.
They strongly cautioned me that Mr. King does not represent the Jewish community and that his actions could do more harm. You’d think the story would end here, but it doesn’t. King now claims he got these two black eyes from police officers who arrested him on charges that he harassed a county employee. By the phone, his public defender said King made the accusation in court Tuesday morning. King pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
