Allan Dunn, a Florida man, was discovered to have been hiding his wife’s body in the freezer for 8 years, while collecting her social security benefits to live a nice lifestyle in his Florida condo.
When Dunn died, his children inherited the condo he lived in. As they were going through his stuff, they discovered his wife’s body in the freezer. Authorities discovered that the woman’s body had been there for 8 years.
Dunn had been collecting money on her behalf the whole time. Now, the family owes the government.
The Daily Mail reports:
In all, Allan collected her Social Security benefits to the tune of $92,000 over the eight years from her death in 2002 until his own death in 2010.
Allan’s heirs said they didn’t know he concealed her death, but they agreed to sell his only asset, his condo in the Sun City retirement community to pay back the government.
Sun City Center is a chain of retirement communities for adults 55-years-old and up. Allan and Margaret’s condo was in the Hillsborough County, Florida location.
The unit has since been sold.
After paying the back taxes, sales costs, and amounts owed to the condominium association, the remaining sales proceeds of $15,743.14 were paid to the United States.
Margaret Dunn died in their Sun City Center condo in 2002. This information was kept hidden from the government.
Dunn himself died in 2010, and his family has been figuring out how to offset his debts since then.
