A white actress better known for her partying, Lindsay Lohan recently made headlines when she publicly began studying Islam, is now claiming that she was stopped by a security officer that demanded she “take off her headscarf.”
In an effort to clean up her act, Lindsay Lohan has begun studying the Quran, recently traveling to Turkey to visit with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Lohan says, “When I was flying to New York recently I was wearing a headscarf and I got stopped at the airport and was racially profiled for the first time in my life… [The agent] opened my passport and saw Lindsay Lohan and started apologizing but said, ‘Take off your headscarf.'”
“I mean, it’s OK. But what scared me was that moment, how would another woman who doesn’t feel comfortable taking off her headscarf feel? That was really interesting to me,” continued the actress.
The Daily Caller reports:
The whole incident made her more sympathetic to women who might not want to take off their headscarves, Lohan said.
“I mean, it’s OK. But what scared me was that moment, how would another woman who doesn’t feel comfortable taking off her headscarf feel? That was really interesting to me,” Lohan said.
Lohan also addressed rumors that she converted to Islam after photographs surfaced of her carrying a Quran. Lohan explained that the Islamic culture feels like “family” to her.
“I just study it, nothing is confirmed yet… I don’t want to speak on something I haven’t finished yet. I find a solace in studying not just the Quran but meditation. The Islamic culture, I feel it’s a family to me, they’ve been really good people to me,” Lohan said.
