On Sunday, February 12, LeBron James and Serena Williams collaborated with with actors, singers, and other sports players in a Nike ad to promote equality in life and sports.
Breitbart News reports:
The Nike ad aired during the Grammy Awards. While James and Williams were the co-stars, the ad featured: Kevin Durant, Megan Rapinoe, Victor Cruz, Dalilah Muhammad, Gabby Douglas, Michael B. Jordan, and Alicia Keys. These prominent figures endorsed opportunity, fairness, and equality. The advertisement presented footage of people spray painting, standing in front of a courthouse, and playing basketball, tennis, baseball, and football. Alicia Keys added to the piece by singing of change. The ad ended with the written words: “Equality Has No Boundaries.”
Micheal Jordan narrated the commercial and boldly proclaimed: “Is this the land history promised? Here, within these lines. On this concrete court. This patch of turf. Here, you’re defined by your actions — not your looks or beliefs. Equality should have no boundaries. The bonds we find here should run past these lines. Opportunity should not discriminate. The ball should bounce the same for everyone. Worth should outshine color. If we can be equals here …”
“We can be equals anywhere,” finished LeBron James.
The advertisement was very inclusive, featuring people of diverse ages, races, and backgrounds.
