Kellyanne Conway made a special plea to the public during Fox and Friends on Monday, talking about the time, energy, and money being wasted on the Russia probe.
“And I want to say something else,” she said, sitting on the couch on Fox & Friends. “We’re starting to waste tens of millions of dollars of taxpayer money on this endeavor.”
“That there’s not obstruction of justice, he’s not under investigation, there’s no collusion, it’s a witch hunt. And if there’s something here, let’s hear about it,” she continued. “I think it’s relevant that people know that Mr. Mueller’s team includes folks who gave significant amounts of money – one person, I read, gave more money than a single mom makes in a year just to Hillary Clinton.”
The Daily Mail continues:
Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway said Monday morning that she didn’t want American tax dollars wasted on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe.
Through the course of the interview, Conway laid out a number of defenses for her boss, including that there are multiple ongoing investigations – Mueller’s and then probes in the House and Senate – yet no evidence of collusion has turned up.
She pointed to remarks made recently by David Brooks, who’s no fan of President Trump, who said Sunday on Meet the Press that he was ‘starting to feel uncomfortable’ about the ‘lack of emerging evidence’ to back such a claim.
She talked about the cost of the probe, and blamed liberals and Democrats for fanning the flames.
‘I think this is part of the resistance and the obstruction,’ Conway said.
President Trump is supposed to give a speech this week, and could address many of these concerns.
He travels to Iowa on Wednesday.
Conway wouldn’t give a full preview, but she pointed out what he’s already said.
