A Louisiana judge has made a ruling of “not guilty” in the trial of English teacher Shelly Dufresne.
The teacher had been arrested for having an “epic” 9-hour threesome with a 16 year-old male student that also involved rape-suspect Rachel Respess.
The district judge, Danyelle Taylor, based her finding of reasonable doubt on a lack of evidence provided by local investigators.
Taylor also stated that she believes the teen, a primary witness, to be unreliable.
Prosecutors said the encounters between Dufresne and the teen started with flirting and soon escalated into an impressive torrent of sex, culminating in the night-long threesome after the 2 older women rescued the student from a potential bar-fight.
Dufresne’s defense attorney praised the decision. “The sex offender laws at one time meant you knew somebody really harmed a child, not somebody almost 17 years old that took part willingly,” she said.
